Dickson College Extension Procedures
Students are encouraged to submit work on time as this is a key tenet of assessment condition standardisation, and supports timely completion of marking, moderation, attribution of outcomes, return of work and provision of feedback. Students are also encouraged to complete work, even if it is late, as soon as possible after the due date. (4.2.10 ACT BSSS Policy and Procedures Manual 2024)
- 24-hour extension
24-hour extension should be arranged at least 3 days prior to the due date.
Exceptions can be illness on the due date or misadventure. Misadventure is defined as an unforeseen mishap, calamity or disaster (6.5.2 ACT BSSS Policy and Procedures Manual 2024).
Students must request approval from their teacher when applying for 24-hour extension, by completing the Assessment: 24-Hour Extension Request form. - Extensions beyond 24-hour
Students must make an appointment with their Engagement Advisor to discuss extensions beyond 24 hours, and must request approval by completing the Assessment: 2-7 Day Extension Request form.
